Taken over in 1997 by Guy Salmona, the Château Laurou is located near the Tarn and covers 45 hectares of AOC Fronton vines.

The soils are made up of boulbènes blanches (sandy soils), fairly poor soils in which the vines express themselves happily. The grape variety is unique to the appellation: Négrette (51%), with astonishing aromatic finesse and complexity, giving the wines their distinctive character. Other grape varieties include Syrah (27%), Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon (15%), Gamay (8%) and Fer Servadou (1%).

In conversion to organic farming since 2009, Château Laurou has been certified organic since 2013.
