Côtes du Lot appellation wines were awarded the IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée) label in 2011. The appellation's terroir is located in the South-West region, close to the Cahors appellation, part of which it encroaches upon without merging, the Côtes du Lot PGI being subject to specific specifications.
