A new style of wine, fruity and spicy, Torus is the result of a selection of vines less than 20 years old from the Montus and Bouscassé terroirs. It offers freshness, fruit, and spice, highlighting the local Tannat grape variety and the terroir. A concentrated red wine, fruity, with body, suppleness, depth, and a finish that melts into spicy notes... A modern and daring Madiran!

Rated estate (2023 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About the estate:

Alain Brumont develops his personality through a style that has made Madiran wines famous throughout the world under the Château Montus label, which he bought in 1980. Often bucking conventional wisdom, Brumont's vintages reflect his great freedom in interpreting terroirs with yellow and red clay subsoils, ranging from 20 to 40%. Tannat is featured in the château's three wines, Prestige, XL, Montus and La Tyre, and certainly delivers the most spectacular profile of this difficult-to-handle Pyrenean grape.
