A wine with a new style, fruity and spicy, Torus is the result of a selection of vines less than 20 years old from the Montus and Bouscassé terroirs, and carries freshness, fruit and spice, highlighting the local Tannat grape variety and terroir. A concentrated, fruity red, with flesh, suppleness, depth and a mellow finish with spicy notes... A bold, modern Madiran!

Expert opinion
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Rated 15.5/20 (Very good)
About the wine:
Pure, bright fruit of nutmeg, black cherry and plum. On the palate, the structure is sapid and the grain tasty. A tannat to be savored.

Domain rated (guide 2023) Selected (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the domains that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the domain :
Alain Brumont develops his personality through a style that takes wines from Madiran around the world under the label of Château Montus, which he bought in 1980. Brumont's cuvées often go against conventional wisdom, demonstrating his freedom in interpreting the terroirs' yellow and red clay subsoils, with gradients ranging from 20 to 40%. Tannat expresses itself in the château's three cuvées, Prestige, XL, Montus and La Tyre, and certainly delivers the most spectacular profile of this not-easy-to-handle Pyrenean grape.
