"Intense aromas combining floral notes with hints of black fruit, blackcurrant, prune and walnut, with fine notes of wood and toast. Very dense, vigorous palate offering floral flavors of black fruit, crème de cassis and kirsch, still young but with exemplary tannins leading to a very long, muscular finish. A great wine, but even better after 2025. (Andreas Larsson)

Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2021) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Château d'Aydie is a family affair (and a sure bet): four Laplace children are now following in the footsteps of their grandfather Frédéric, who was one of the first to sell bottled Madiran, with the help of André Daguin, the famous Gascon chef. The 62-hectare farm has now been joined by a trading structure.

About the wine:
Dense and close to maturity, this is a deeply ripe wine. Black fruit and dry core are about to soften into a generous, richly textured wine. This wine from the Laplace family estate is destined to age even longer. Drink from 2023.
