A rare wine, produced only in great vintages; rare also in terms of volume, as it comes from a small 1.5-hectare plot crossed by the Greenwich meridian and planted with venerable Tannat vines aged between 55 and 100 years old. Rare, finally, due to the remarkable quality of this 2020 vintage, whose watchword is "elegance." Elegance in its lively bouquet of black fruits, pepper and menthol. Elegance in its full-bodied, fresh and powerful palate, built on very fine-grained tannins and stretching into a long, sappy and deep finish. Already devilishly charming, this Madiran is far from having said its last word." (Le Guide Hachette 2025)

About wine:
A rare wine, produced only in great vintages; rare also in terms of volume, as it comes from a small 1.5-hectare plot crossed by the Greenwich meridian and planted with venerable Tannat vines aged between 55 and 100 years old. Rare, finally, due to the remarkable quality of this 2020 vintage, whose watchword is "elegance." Elegance in its lively bouquet of black fruits, pepper and menthol. Elegance in its full-bodied, fresh and powerful yet supple palate, built on very fine-grained tannins and stretching into a long, sappy and deep finish. Already devilishly charming, this Madiran is far from having said its last word.
About the estate:
This ancient estate, whose origins date back to the 17th century and whose name means "stony ground" in Gascon, has belonged to the Lesgourgues family since 1999. The family already owns estates in Bas Armagnac and Graves: 26 hectares of vines now managed by the third generation, represented by Arnaud Lesgourgues.
Vert de Vin
Wine rated (2023 guide) 90-91/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About wine:
The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose is very concentrated and fresh, with notes of morello cherry, black plum, blueberry, and red cherry, complemented by sweet notes of cinnamon, vanilla, licorice, chocolate mint, and morello cherry jam. On the palate, the attack is round and warm, with notes of candied red and black fruits (prunes, cherry jam) and fresh fruits (black plum, red plum, morello cherry) with sweet spices on the finish (clove, licorice, cinnamon). The tannins are powerful and drying and need time to soften. High acidity balances the astringency of the tannins. A full-bodied and rich wine.
