"It's impressive how slowly Petit Courbu ages. Still rich in fruit, this wine is just beginning to ripen, bringing bitter almonds to broaden the fruit and acidity. The wine is now ready to drink. (Wine Enthusiast 2022). Enjoy with foie gras or Roquefort soufflé...

Expert opinion
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated wine (guide 2023) 90/100
Domaine noté (guide 2023) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the domain :
Alain Brumont develops his personality through a style that takes wines from Madiran around the world under the label of Château Montus, which he bought in 1980. Brumont's cuvées often go against conventional wisdom, demonstrating his freedom in interpreting the terroirs' yellow and red clay subsoils, with gradients ranging from 20 to 40%. Tannat expresses itself in the château's three cuvées, Prestige, XL, Montus and La Tyre, and certainly delivers the most spectacular profile of this not-easy-to-handle Pyrenean grape.
