"Swiss Grape Varieties

"The bouquet is bright, pure, supple and fresh, showing notes of crushed and weathered stones. On the palate, it's a fresh, pure, intense red with a silky texture, finely crisp tannins and a straightforward character with a salty, spicy finish. Watermarked again and highly refined." (Wine Advocate 2020 - Stephan Reinhardt)

About the wine:

From the left bank of the Rhône (with limestone soils and fewer hours of sunshine), Dôle la Liaudisaz 2018 is a blend of around 80% Pinot Noir with 20% Gamay and a tiny bit of Gamaret and Diolinoir. Fermented separately, the blend was aged in enamelled vats for a year. The bouquet is bright, pure, supple and fresh, with notes of crushed and weathered stone. On the palate, it's a fresh, pure, intense red with a silky texture, finely crunchy tannins and a straightforward character with a salty-spicy finish. Again, filigree and highly refined. Tasted at Fully estate in January 2020.

Crisp, fruity, with a touch of sugar reminiscent of Beaujolais nouveau. It's good, but let's face it, it's a pretty wine for bobos, and we're paying for the winemaker's reputation.
