"This wine has magnificent, captivating aromas of rhubarb, licorice, redcurrant, citrus peel, dried rose, and paprika. It is refined and elegant, medium-bodied, with fine, crisp tannins that give it bite. More savory characteristics come through on a long, tense finish. Best after 2025." (James Suckling 2024)

About wine:
The Pofadder 2023, 100% Cinsault planted in schist, has a floral bouquet: white flowers, rose petals, bright wild strawberries, and cranberries, with a little more minerality than the Soldaat. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp red fruit. This is perhaps the most taut Pofadder I have tasted, culminating in a linear finish with life-affirming thrills. This Pofadder is brilliant, effortless, and even better than last year's. 2025-2045
