Treinspoor 2023 is a pure Tinta Barocca planted on sandstone and granite/quartz. Black fruits and notes of Earl Grey blossom on the nose, which is perhaps somewhat similar to that of Nebbiolo and very expressive. Lively and bright, the palate is medium-bodied with slightly chalky tannins. It is somewhat reminiscent of Barolo towards the grippy finish, leaving veins of blue fruit in the aftertaste. About wine:
Intense aromas of violet and dried flowers combine with blue and black fruits, tea leaves, bark, and nutmeg. It is medium-bodied, very fresh and lively, with tight, firm tannins that are almost indiscernible, spreading across the palate. Well-structured. Best enjoyed from 2026 onwards.
