"Nose of bread crust, very noble and rather rare for the grape variety, a very dry style, the palate is greedy and fresh, digestible with a fine saline framework, the crystalline finish offers a very gastronomic purity, this wine glides on the palate, the balance is superb for an entry-level wine. Bettane & Desseauve
Rated 15/20 (Very good wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the wine:
Nose of bread crust, very noble and rather rare for the grape variety, a very dry style, the palate is greedy and fresh, digestible with a fine saline framework, the crystalline finish offers a very gastronomic purity, this wine glides on the palate, the balance is superb for an entry-level wine.
About the domain :
With courage and discipline, Céline and Isabelle Meyer manage the estate long run by their father Jean. Biodynamic viticulture shines through in wines with airy, pure, fresh, chiselled mouthfeel. The estate's two favorite grands crus are Hengst and Brand, where Riesling shines particularly brightly. Pinot Gris is part of a long tradition of dry wines, unfortunately not so common in Alsace.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Scored (2017 guide) 89/100 (Very good wine)
About the wine:
The 2015 Fromenteau Pinot Gris opens with a ripe, spicy, slightly lactic/caramel bouquet and ripe apples. On the palate, it's a very dry, spicy, fresh Pinot with a lovely creamy texture and lovely aromatic persistence on the finish. The 2015 was bottled with 13.5% alcohol and 2g residual sugar. This is an excellent wine to accompany a wide range of dishes.
Wine Enthusiast
Rated wine (2017 guide) 91/100
About the wine:
Fresh Russet pear rind appears on the nose, with pleasant notes of bitterness and juicy fruit. The palate is fine and dry, further demonstrating the purity of the fruit. Although powerful and concentrated, the finish resonates with delicate pear notes and lemony freshness.
