"A dazzling success!
This Grand Cru Hengst Riesling Blanc 2015 is pure and crystal-clear, with sumptuous aromas of white fruits, lemongrass, verbena, celery and ginger, and lovely root notes that mingle with delectation, stretched by fine bitters! Still firm and perfectly ripe, it can be cellared for up to ten years without any problem. A virtuoso at the peak of his art!

Sashimi is a perfect match, as are fine seafood and aged cheeses such as old comtés, gouda or parmesan, all of which are enhanced by this wine that sublimates its complexity through a language of salt...

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated 93/100
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the wine:
The fruitiness begins to take hold, with candied citrus fruit and a gourmet touch. The palate is already seductive, due to the weaker acidity; it's already in place, but its beautiful mineral restitution on the finish is a marvel.
About the domain :
With courage and discipline, Céline and Isabelle Meyer manage the estate long run by their father Jean. Biodynamic viticulture shines through in wines with airy, pure, fresh, chiselled mouthfeel. The estate's two favorite grands crus are Hengst and Brand, where Riesling shines particularly brightly. Pinot Gris is part of a long tradition of dry wines, unfortunately not so common in Alsace.

Scored (2017 guide) 89+/100 (Very good wine)
About the wine:
Coming from the upper part of the cru and a rockier, shallower soil, the 2015 Riesling Grand Cru Hengst Samain has a very fresh, stony, lemony bouquet, richer, but also reductive for now. Rich, round and creamy on the palate, this is a very different Hengst, endowed with power, firm tannins and a very long, still slightly bitter finish. It's a very powerful, more masculine Hengst.
