"Exceptional care
"Right from the first nose, Kastelberg asserts its singularity: a nose of pumice and peppermint, an unyielding structure, sharp but enveloped in a great sweetness of fruit, in which the expression of schist purifies and interminably prolongs the finish." (Le Guide RVF 2024)

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated 96/100
About the wine:
A grand cru that vibrates in the glass, intense and powerful with a violent sensation, smoky in its aromas, almost tannic in its touch, a feeling of hardness, a wine of a brawler. A sign of a great terroir, where the Riesling grape shines.

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 3*Stars (They represent the excellence of the French vineyard. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wines is always a magical experience)
About the wine:
From the very first nose, Kastelberg asserts its singularity: a nose of pumice and peppermint, an unyielding framework, sharp but enveloped in a great sweetness of fruit, in which the expression of schist purifies and interminably prolongs the finish.
About the domain :
Since 2007, Marc Kreydenweiss's son Antoine has been at the helm of this estate in Andlau, one of the pioneers of biodynamic viticulture in Alsace. The variety of the estate's terroirs and their subtle interpretation has always been a strong point here, reinforced by the changes implemented by Antoine (slower pressing and longer ageing on lees). The risks taken by vinifying a number of cuvées without sulfur (or with minimal levels) have paid off, and do not give rise to the slightest defect. A small range of organic grape purchases is launched under the name Lune à Boire. Pinot noir and maceration wines (not rated) are at the highest level. The standards have been raised to the highest level, with wines of rare vitality, and continue to deepen, with ambitious four-year maturation of the 2017 Riesling Grand Cru. These exciting wines, with their rare vitality, have earned the domaine its third star this year.
