Valentin Zusslin - Les Kammerlas 2017
5/5 (1 review)
95/100 Coup de Cœur RVF
-
92+/100 Robert Parker
-
93/100 James Suckling
"Riesling, sylvaner, muscat and gewurztraminer planted in 1938: a nose of star anise and preserved lemon, a sapid palate, very full and deep in this wine that impresses with its concentration, yet remains airy and slender". (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2021 - RVF)
Valentin Zusslin - Pinot Noir Ophrys 2019
5/5 (2 reviews)
92/100 Robert Parker
-
92/100 RVF
An Alsace Pinot Noir with a gentle, infused extraction that produces a delicate, fresh cuvée with beautiful aromas. Ophrys, an orchid found on the Bollenberg hillside, this cuvée is also an ode to these small wild flowers.
Valentin Zusslin - Riesling Orschwihr 2019
4/5 (2 reviews)
16,5/20 Coup de Coeur RVF
This Riesling is full, complete and balanced, with notes of exotic fruit and freshness. A blend of the estate's different Riesling plots, this cuvée is a fine representation of the complexity of Alsace's terroirs.
Valentin Zusslin - Riesling Clos Liebenberg Monopole 2017
5/5 (1 review)
16,5/20 RVF
-
92/100 Robert Parker
This "hill of love" (Liebenberg in Alsatian) is a monopoly of the Zusslin family. The palate is ample and racy, with a soft bitterness on the finish that makes it airy. A cuvée that reveals itself year after year, for the most patient!
Valentin Zusslin - Gewurztraminer Bollenberg Vendange Tardive 2014
4.3/5 (10 reviews)
16,5/20 RVF
-
15/20 Bettane & Desseauve
-
91+/100 Robert Parker
"Elegant fruit, fresh and slightly spicy, tender palate, digestible liquor supported by beautiful bitters, not very ample but digestible and fresh. It's very clean, which is commendable in this vintage". (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France 2017)
Valentin Zusslin - Riesling Bollenberg 2014
4/5 (5 reviews)
16/20 RVF
-
90/100 Robert Parker
"The 2014 Bollenberg Riesling presents ripe, concentrated (stone) fruit aromas in a spicy, fresh and smoky bouquet of broken rocks. Full-bodied, round and creamy, this is a powerful, intense Riesling that is also pure, elegant and fine, with lively acidity and lovely mineral tension. The finish is lng and powerful, but also tannic and a little closed at the moment." (Wine Advocate 2017 - Robert Parker)
Valentin Zusslin - Pinot Noir Bollenberg Harmonie 2011
93/100 Robert Parker
-
16,5/20 RVF
Domaine Zusslin's Pinot Noir production is, according to the Revue du Vin de France, "one of the most exciting in Alsace". With its luscious aromas of morello cherries, the Cuvée Harmonie is immediately seductive, elegantly announcing a fruity palate with silky tannins. A very fine vintage that won't blush in the face of Côte de Beaune wines.
Valentin Zusslin - Riesling Grand Cru Pfingstberg 2014
17,5/20 Bettane & Desseauve
-
17/20 RVF
-
92+/100 Robert Parker
"Golden in color, the Riesling Grand Cru Pfingstberg 2014 has a very pure, fresh, flinty bouquet, but also rich, concentrated and wonderfully expressive [...]. The wine is full-bodied, rich and intense, with a creamy texture, well concentrated and juicy, but also lively and fresh with a beautiful mineral vitality. It's a powerful, well-structured and very persistent grand cru with lots of salt, finesse and tension; there's also a nice grip in this concentrated and extremely long finish. Superb ageing potential. " (Wine Advocate 2017 - Robert Parker)
Valentin Zusslin - Pinot Gris Bollenberg 2014
3/5 (3 reviews)
16/20 RVF
-
16/20 Bettane & Desseauve
-
91+/100 Robert Parker
"Greedy aromas of undergrowth and dried fruit, it's dry and salivating, beautiful presence on the palate, savory, straight, ideal on a pan-fried mushroom. The style we'd love to have on so many Pinot Gris in Alsace!" (Le Guide Bettane & Desseauve des Vins de France 2017)
Valentin Zusslin - Gewurztraminer Bollenberg La Chapelle 2013
3.2/5 (5 reviews)
90/100 Robert Parker
-
15,5/20 RVF
-
15/20 Bettane & Desseauve
"Coming from a sunny, slightly windy parcel adjoining the chapel, the 2013 Gewurztraminer Bollenberg La Chapelle looks very clean, fresh and quite complex on the nose, blending discreet fruit aromas such as pineapple or lemon with spicy white pepper flavors. Full-bodied, intense and well-structured, this completely dry Gewurztraminer is remarkably fresh and structured, with the same purity and crispness as the other whites from this sublime estate. Still very young and with a saline finish, this Traminer responds to the spicy character of the grape variety with its ripe fruit. Marie Zusslin particularly recommends it with Asian cuisine". (Wine Advocate 2015 - Robert Parker)
