"Golden in color, the Riesling Grand Cru Pfingstberg 2014 has a very pure, fresh, flinty bouquet, but also rich, concentrated and wonderfully expressive [...]. The wine is full-bodied, rich and intense, with a creamy texture, well concentrated and juicy, but also lively and fresh with a beautiful mineral vitality. It's a powerful, well-structured and very persistent grand cru with lots of salt, finesse and tension; there's also a nice grip in this concentrated and extremely long finish. Superb ageing potential. " (Wine Advocate 2017 - Robert Parker)

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2017 guide) 17.5/20 (Reference wine)
About the wine:
Beautiful purity on the palate, fine saline bitters on the palate, maturity and delicacy, it is too young but will rise a notch higher than the clos-liebenberg.

Rated (2017 guide) 92+/100 (Outstanding wine)

Domaine rated (guide 2021) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, because of their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning connoisseurs).
About the wine:
The riesling Grand Cru Pfingstberg is a great success in 2014, complex and dense, with a fine, chiseled finish.
About the domain :
Jean-Paul and Marie Zusslin, who have been carrying on the family winegrowing tradition since 1691, have been exemplary for some years now. Based in Orschwihr, in a beautiful vineyard, they form a passionate and charismatic duo, dedicated to a job well done. And they're multiplying their projects: designing a new bottle, setting up dozens of beehives and nesting boxes in the plots... Each has his own role: Marie in marketing, Jean-Paul in the vines and the cellar. Biodynamic viticulture since 1997, meticulous winemaking and precise ageing sum up the work of this benchmark domaine, where the spirit of the parcel is omnipresent, even in the crémants. The excellence of the range means that we can expect to see a rise in our rankings!
