"A cuvée to be enjoyed with friends!

This cuvée, produced from the estate's young vines, is intended to be both delicious and refreshing. A goal amply achieved with this 2023 vintage, with its explosive nose of very fresh red fruit aromas. A lively, easy-drinking red with a full-bodied mouthfeel that's the perfect accompaniment to a plate of Lyonnais charcuterie, for example... - Packaged in screw-caps.

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (guide 2021) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

Mathieu Lapierre, now joined by his sister Camille, continues the work built up by his father Marcel, who passed away too soon. It was in 1981, under the impetus of Jules Chauvet, a distinguished researcher, that Marcel Lapierre decided to vinify without sulfur or cultured yeasts, and to cultivate his vines biodynamically. Since his death, Mathieu Lapierre has continued his father's work with the same passion and success. A former chef, Mathieu Lapierre is driven by precision and rigor. Sulfur-free is not an absolute quest, and should only be achieved when the conditions are right. 2017 presents us with a dilemma, that of choosing between the cuvée nature and the cuvée sulfitée, each possessing qualities that the other does not! It's a matter of taste that only the connoisseur will be able to decide, as both philosophies seem relevant to us.

Domaine rated (guide 2024) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the domain :

Since Marcel Lapierre's death, his wife Marie, son Mathieu and daughter Camille have been perpetuating the spirit of the "natural" wines he pioneered. The Lapierre family's strength lies in their very fine parcels of land, cultivated organically since 1981, which enable them to create a Morgon that is representative of the appellation, complemented by a "sans soufre" for immediate pleasure and a more confidential Julienas. To meet demand, the domaine also buys in grapes. The wine is aged without sulfur for an average of nine months, in barrels ranging from three to thirteen years old, as well as in venerable foudres. The domaine has entered an era in which it can produce "natural" wines with regularity, without overflowing.
