Jean Paul Brun - Terres Dorées
The Domaine des Terres Dorées is run by Jean-Paul Brun, one of the region's finest winemakers, who manages to convey the qualities of the Beaujolais terroirs with astonishing naturalness.

A conscientious and passionate winemaker, Jean-Paul Brun works the Gamay and Chardonnay grape varieties with the utmost care, constantly striving to ensure that the terroir expresses its multiple facets. The vine is nurtured from bud to harvest, with a minimum of intervention. The grapes are only harvested when fully ripe. In the cellar, the grapes are fermented with yeasts from the terroir to produce an authentic wine. Domaine des Terres Dorées has also begun to vinify three small plots of Pinot Noir using the Burgundian method, and the results are very promising.

Domaine des Terres Dorées has taken on a new mission to satisfy the demand of wine-lovers for "real Beaujolais", in partnership with a number of other winemakers. Good parcels of Chardonnay have been selected in the surrounding communes and are vinified on the estate. The vinification of other Beaujolais crus is now also covered, notably with the discovery of very fine terroirs and excellent winemakers in Moulin-à-Vent and Côte de Brouilly.

"An unctuous white, with delicious mineral nuances and a beautiful salinity".

Chardonnay Classic is a Beaujolais that's always lively and sharp, with great intensity. Vinified and aged in vats on lees, and from a terroir with limestone soil, it expresses the purest expression of the grape variety. An unctuous white with savory mineral nuances and lovely salinity.

"Spectacularly harmonious!

A harmonious cuvée, this Beaujolais benefits from the depth of its terroir. With aromas of cooked red berries, candied orange and warm stones, it retains body thanks to its soft tannins. Perfect with a charcuterie platter or red meat.

"Morgon "Grand Cru

"The Morgon Côte du Py - Javernières 2022 [...] has a well-defined, concentrated bouquet, with aromas of blackcurrant and iodine, and hints of violets that reveal themselves over time. The palate is medium-bodied, with a nice grip on the entry, minerality emerging on the pencil-tinted finish. Fresh and slightly chalky, this wine should age well in bottle." (Vinous 2024).

"A sensational Morgon, fleshy and enveloping, highly recommended.

"The Morgon Terres Dorées 2022, usually the last to be harvested by Brun, is a little subdued at first, then opens up to reveal scents of blackberry, Chinese ink and crushed violet - quite intense, like Brun's other cuvées. The palate is medium-bodied and coherent, with silky tannins. This is a mouth-filling Morgon, though it lacks a little tension on the finish. I like the peppery aftertaste". (Vinous 2024).

"A charming vintage

"Côte de Brouilly 2022 has a well-defined bouquet of black fruits, with hints of gingerbread and dried herbs. The palate is fleshy on entry, medium-bodied with supple tannins and fine acidity, harmonious with a silky finish. A Côte de Brouilly of great beauty". (Vinous 2024)

"The Moulin-à-Vent 2021 is promising, unfolding in the glass with notes of wild berries, vine smoke, petals and spice. Medium to full-bodied, supple and saline, with a tight core, it will reward at least a year or two of patience." (Wine Advocate 2022). Pleasure guaranteed with this Moulin-à-Vent!

The fruit of a late harvest, In Extremis is a sweet wine made in the Austrian tradition: the marc is bathed in a new white wine of the year. This dissolves the remaining sugars, and the pomace is pressed again. The result is a wine with notes of dried fruit, and an entirely new complexity in the expression of botrytized Chardonnay.

Jean-Paul Brun is probably one of the few growers of Roussanne in Beaujolais. Once again, he demonstrates that it's possible to do excellent things with this grape variety, which produces a full-bodied, elegant, gourmet white that's delicious beyond compare!

A new vintage, the 2012 was rated: Gerbelle & Maurange 15/20, RVF 14/20
Beaujolais Cuvée Première is produced from the youngest vines. A lovely red combining fruitiness and roundness with good acidity and straight, dense tannins. Beautiful aromas of red and black fruits will allow you to enjoy it now, but it will also withstand two to three years of cellaring. Not to be missed!

This well-born rosé epitomizes the playful, forward-thinking character of its progenitor: a little grain of madness guides the development of this cuvée which, vintage after vintage, expresses gourmandise, a fruity, fruity side with good staying power and indisputable freshness. Rosé d'Folie is a well-mastered wine to be served on any self-respecting summer table!
