About the domain :
Son and grandson of winegrowers, Franck Chavy set up in 1991 with a few hectares of Morgon. Through buyouts and sharecropping, he has expanded his estate to 9.5 ha, while at the same time making his mark in the Guide, where he is a sure bet. This success is undoubtedly due to his high vine density (10,000 vines/ha) and long maceration periods.

Unadorned, natural Brouilly, but very full-bodied (too full-bodied for a Gamay?). The tannins are firm and still prominent, masking the fruit a little at this stage at least. Plenty of substance and depth on the palate, with a slight bitterness of gentian in the background. Spicy pepper finish. Should soften and gain in roundness after a good year's cellaring. Price somewhat presumptuous in my opinion. To be aired imperatively before tasting with a roast veal casserole with melting deglazed carrots. Score = 3.6.
