Clos de la Roilette
Clos de la Roilette in Fleurie was named by its former owner in the 1900s, in memory of the best horse he owned in a racing stable in Paris. The horse's head emblem was thus adopted and characterizes the estate's label. Although it never seems to have been surrounded by walls, Clos de la Roilette comprises a vast parcel of land on a beautiful, east-facing Beaujolais hillside.

Today, the Coudert family is at the helm of Clos de la Roilette, a beautiful 14-hectare estate whose vines, on average 40 years old, are planted on sandy-clay soil and a granitic subsoil rich in manganese. A new parcel has been acquired in Brouilly and Champagne in recent years. Today, the Clos de la Roilette vineyard is managed using the "lutte raisonnée" method, a viticulture that respects the soil and the vines. Clos de la Roilette produces fine, well-balanced red wines.

"Late harvest, gamay that deserves praise!"

This selection of old vines (over 60 years old) gives a high concentration and intensity of fruit that is reflected in the glass. Its ruby-red color reveals a fine texture. The delicate nose reveals aromas of fruit, spices and smoke. Its delicate attack and velvety texture evolve into a fine, racy chewiness. Beautiful intensity.

"A wine for laying down (RVF)!

"2023 confirms the estate's good momentum, with a wine that combines the power of Fleurie with that of the vintage, testifying to the great care taken with extraction and ageing, as well as a fine mastery of the whole harvest, bringing the welcome impetus and fine vegetality. A wine for laying down". (Le Guide RVF 2025) A flagship cuvee from this Fleurie landmark!

strong personality

Inherited from his father, Alain Coudert is nicknamed the Marquis. With its rich texture and fine tannins on the palate, this cuvée has a pleasant bittersweet intensity. The structure is finer here, and the wine offers a distinctive expression. The wine is a success, a real personality to be discovered.
