"The Fleurie La Réserve 2012 is aged for 20-30% in wood. It offers clear aromas of redcurrant on the nose, just a little exclusive for the moment. The palate is well-defined and very juicy for the vintage. An easy-drinking pleasure, now through 2016." (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

Villa Ponciago
Fleurie
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (2015 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
Château de Poncié (Ponciago in Latin) is a historic estate in the Fleurie cru. Acquired in 2008 by the Henriot family (Champagnes Henriot, Bouchard Père et Fils, William Fèvre) after decades of poor viticultural practices, the task of reawakening the life of the soil on nearly 60 hectares of vineyards, all located around the château in the northern part of the cru, is a titanic one. Frédéric Weber and his teams are working diligently to achieve results that are improving year after year.
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Domaine rated 2**Stars (Successful production)
About the domain :
Villa Ponciago is said to be the first known name of the estate, as mentioned in the charter of the Abbey of Cluny. The 19 hectares farmed in the Fleurie appellation, spread over more than 200 parcels, were taken over in 2008 by the Henriot Champagne family, and the first vintage bottled was 2009 - previously, the wines were sold in bulk. In addition to low yields and the quest for maturity, Thomas Henriot's quest for finesse and elegance includes measured punch-downs and long fermentations.

Domaine noté (guide 2015) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the wine:
It benefits from the reversal of all cuvées not produced in the vintage. The flesh is complemented by a fine mineral texture typical of the terroir, it's fruity and greedy, well-made and pleasant to drink. Its elegance is a great success for the year.
About the domain :
This historic Fleurie estate, located to the north of the appellation, was taken over in 2008 by the Henriot family, who continue to give it the care and improvement it deserves. It boasts an unquestionably beautiful 49 ha vineyard, much of it on hillsides with steep slopes of up to 60%. The Hauts du Py parcel is one of the appellation's highest points (410 m). Three cuvées are produced: La Réserve (from a selection of the estate's best plots), Les Hauts du Py (high altitude terroir) and La Roche Muriers (hillsides). Recent vintages demonstrate the progress made and the ambition of the domaine. 2012 places it at the top and justifies the award of a well-deserved first star.
