"The harmony of the appellation's mythical coastline!"

"We find the quintessential Côte du Py, with the toasty dimension complementing the morgonne fruit, with a rich, bewitching 2022 fruit that delights us. Already ready to drink, it will age for at least 20 years. (Le Guide de la RVF 2025). Enjoy it with a typical Beaujolais andouillette!

Bettane & Desseauve

Noted domain 3*Stars (High-quality production that sets the standard in its sector)

About the domain :

A leading figure in Beaujolais in general and Morgon in particular, Dominique Piron, now joined by his partner Julien Révillon, is developing a solid range of Beaujolais crus. Over 100 hectares, seven crus are represented, with a logical majority of Morgons. With a refined style and expressive nose, while retaining the stylistic signature of their origins, the domaine's wines are all successful.

Rated domain (2023 guide) Award-winning wines (Wines from this producer regularly win awards in the guide)

About the domain :

Heir to 14 generations of winegrowers, Dominique Piron handed over the reins of the family estate in 2020 to Julien Revillon, his partner since 2013. The latter is now in charge of some 50 hectares of vines, divided between his own vineyards and grape purchases for the négoce.

Graded area (2024 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine :

We find the quintessential Côte du Py, with the toasty dimension complementing the morgonne fruit, with a rich, bewitching 2022 fruit that delights us. Already ready to drink, it will age for at least 20 years.

About the domain :

Julien Revillon, aided by his talented oenologist Pierre Meunier, continues Dominique Piron's work with consistency and brio. The duo is aided by vineyard manager Thibaud Lemaître, which has become necessary to oversee a 90-hectare estate. Their joint efforts have improved the quality of the grapes, and the parcel-by-parcel selection process is beginning to bear fruit. We've been won over by the consistency of the range and its cornerstones: spontaneity of fruit, delicacy and precise definition of each cru.

Vin noté (guide 2024) 17,5/20

Noted domain Recommended

About the wine :

Dark-medium ruby. Lots of perfume, violets, kirsch and black cherry. On the palate, 25% oak adds pepper and spice. Medium- to full-bodied, powerful and muscular. Tannins are not hard, but present and persistent. Alcohol is balanced with refreshing acidity.

Rated domain (2022 guide) Recommended

About the wine :

Welcome to the hidden face of Morgon's strength! Highly concentrated, yet with great mineral freshness, the fine tannins give it excellent complexity on the medium-bodied palate. A hint of bitter chocolate on the vibrant, very long finish of wet stone. Aged 80% in vats and 20% in wooden barrels. Drink now, but preferably from 2025.
