Domaine Maxime Troncy - Beaujolais Oppidum 2018
4/5 (3 reviews)
2*Coup de Coeur Hachette
"A favorite in the previous Guide with his Moulin-à-vent Chassignol 2017, Maxime Troncy confirms his (very) good dispositions and signs a "simple" Beaujolais that is anything but simplistic. A cuvée born of venerable 70-year-old vines planted on a hillside once home to a Roman oppidum. Aged for 8 months in oak, it reveals intense, generous aromas of black fruit, sweet spices, toast and Zan. On the palate? Volume, concentration, fleshiness and velvety tannins, enveloped by ripe fruit and well-adjusted oak. Character. (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022)
Domaine Maxime Troncy - Beaujolais Sourire en Vin 2017
15/20 Le Point
"Red fruit, lively, spicy, well-fruited palate, crisp tannins, a thirst-quenching, gourmet wine" (Le Point - 2019) With these few years of aging, the tannins must have polished but the gourmandise is still there!
Domaine Maxime Troncy - Chénas Les Brureaux 2017
3.5/5 (4 reviews)
16/20 Beaujolais Aujourd'hui
"Produced from 80-year-old vines, this fine parcel-based cuvée expresses a fine, precise nose of red fruits and spices. The wine is crisp, juicy and fresh, all with body and good length." (Beaujolais Aujourd'hui - March-April 2021) What charm. This parcel-based cuvée has everything to please!
Domaine Maxime Troncy - Moulin-à-Vent Chassignol 2018
3.5/5 (2 reviews)
15,5/20 Beaujolais Aujourd'hui
"Produced this time from century-old vines, this fine cuvée expresses aromas of black fruits. The wine is dense, juicy, still a little tight on the finish, but promising." (Beaujolais Aujourd'hui - March-April 2021) After the 2017 vintage awarded 2 Coup de Cœur stars in the Guide Hachette, here's the 2018 with a fleshy, authentic profile to match!
Domaine Maxime Troncy - Moulin-à-Vent Chassignol 2017
3.2/5 (5 reviews)
2*Coup de Coeur Hachette
"Old vines, nearly 100 years old, on the granite terroir of Chassignol, a 17-day vinification with part of the harvest destemmed, and 12 months of oak barrel ageing. These are the main features of this ambitious cuvée. An ambition unanimously acclaimed by the jury. Full-bodied, structured and coated with silky tannins, this moulin-à-vent also boasts great length. The oak is present, but does nothing to detract from its freshness and aromatic complexity, with notes of peony and black fruit". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2021)
