"Beyond the aromas of ripe plum and black cherry that exude from this Merlot-dominant blend, there is an additional dimension of nuance that sets it apart from many other wines tasted blind in the Bordeaux AOC category. The palate is well-structured with ripe tannins and a velvety finish." (Decanter Magazine)

Rated estate (2019 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
The Despagne family owns five estates and 300 hectares of vineyards planted with traditional Bordeaux grape varieties. The Despagnes' seriousness, inventiveness, and skill mean that all their wines, particularly those from their flagship properties, Tour de Mirambeau and Rauzan Despagne, could serve as a model for many Bordeaux wines: always flattering but never straying far from Bordeaux classicism. Here, the wines are always very harmonious.
