" Magnificent nose of brambly fruit and blackcurrant jam. Good intensity on the palate, a rush of black fruit arrives before black spicy licorice joins the saline mineral stone of the limestone terroir giving texture and complexity. A serious, sculpted and firm style, but with energy and dynamism. The texture is smooth and this has lovely precision with a bright juicy elevator at the end. One to seek out and a domain to watch." Bettane & Desseauve

Wine rated (2020 guide) 92/100

Domaine rated (2020 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)

About the wine:

Full-bodied on the palate, still sheathed in refined flesh. Fine, brilliant wine with great freshness. Long finish.

About the domain :

The 4.5 hectares of this Canon-Fronsac, well anchored on a terrace overlooking the Dordogne, have been enthusiastically taken over by Jean-Francis Pécresse, director of Radio Classique: the property, advised by Stéphane Derenoncourt (a key consultant on the Right Bank), has gained in fruit and refinement, here the emphasis is on balance, tannic finesse and depth. This vintage deserves time to develop its full potential. Good value for money.

Wine rated (guide 2021) 94/100

Domaine rated (guide 2021) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

Powdery tannins for a ripe wine that's still very fine.

About the domain :

Before becoming director of Radio Classique and editorialist at Les Echos, Jean-Francis Pécresse was a winemaker. His ancestors, who came from Corrèze, acquired a small vineyard on the Saint-Michel-de-Fronsac plateau, and he has always followed its progress very closely. Advised by Hannah Fiegenschuh (Derenoncourt nursery), the cru climbs a step each year and began converting to organic farming three years ago. Once an outsider among the great Fronsadais, Canon Pécresse is taking its place alongside them, with an increasingly assertive definition of its terroir of graded limestone; the wines combine charm, purity and freshness.
