"Property of Nicolas Thienpont, a renowned winegrower".
"Tropical fruit but also white stone fruit, nuanced nose of pear and white flower. Lively with orange and lemon juice and zest on the palate, giving a touch of sweet, tart and bitter, all nicely complex. I like the texture here, sharp but dynamic, taut and concentrated, there ' s a nice precision and good overall structure. " (Decanter 2022) - Château Puygueraud is owned by renowned winemaker Nicolas Thienpont, as are the Grands Crus Classés Pavie Macquin and Larcis Ducasse in Saint-Emilion.

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Estate rated (2014 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
"The Thienpont family, who have owned the estate since 1946, have revived the Côtes de Francs appellation with this first-rate cru since 1983. Nicolas Thienpont, who is also responsible for a premier cru classé in Saint-Emilion, produces a full-bodied, generous wine, with controlled oak, designed for honest cellaring (five to ten years). The estate is regular and the vintages of good quality. In homage to his father George, Nicolas Thienpont has created a cuvée with the eponymous name, marked by malbec, a grape variety he particularly appreciated. A wine of strong character, but not without finesse".

About the wine:
Puygueraud Blanc 2021 contains more Sauvignon Gris this year, as the Sauvignon Blanc was affected by frost. Picked at 31hL/ha from September 17 to 27, it has a well-defined nose of Granny Smith apples, redcurrants and nettles; an underlying note of petrichor emerges on aeration. The palate is actually more complex than the nose suggests, offering flavors of lime and Conference pear, as well as a pleasant weight conferred by the Sauvignon Gris. There's a touch of spice on the finish. Well worth seeking out. 2026 - 2035

About the wine:
Lots of white peach and sliced green apple with a little grapefruit. Medium body. Tart fruit and a fresh, creamy finish. Two-thirds Sauvignon Blanc and one-third Sauvignon Gris.

About the wine:
With good intensity, the bouquet of Puygueraud reveals fresh, fruity nuances of mirabelle plums and chalky notes. Slightly saline on the attack, the wine is delicious, fresh and thirst-quenching. A wine ready to quench the thirst of many a palate!
Vert de Vin
Rated (guide 2022) 90-91/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About the wine:
A lovely, fresh nose with fine intensity and lovely grain. The nose is relatively marked by Sauvignon Gris. Notes of kumquat, zest and, more slightly, crushed nectarine are combined with hints of fresh/crushed apple, exotic berries and a discreet hint of fresh verbena. The palate is fruity, fresh, elegant and taut, with lovely acidity, energy, an elegant, taut structure, fullness and roundness. Notes of quenette, lychee and, more lightly, ripe lemon are combined with hints of kumquat, quince and fine zest, discreet hints of racy minerality and a subtle, almost varietal/white flower/lemon blossom touch. Good length. Lovely freshness, roundness, generosity and a chiselled edge. Attractive acidic persistence, greedy and sapid.
