"A beautiful, concentrated red wine distinguished by a rich, full body that gives free rein to an exuberant expression of black fruit with excellent definition. It even gives the impression of having seen the barrel, even though it was only aged in vats" (Le Guide des bonnes affaires du vin 2015 - Gerbelle & Maurange). A red with a rich, velvety mouthfeel, revealing a minty, liquorice freshness of the finest effect...

Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Domaine rated 1*Star (Serious production)
About the domain :
Located in Mazères, in the Graves appellation, Caillivet is owned by the Carrillo family. In 1997, Philippe and his son Antoine created the vineyard on the family land, 7 hectares planted on clay-gravel soils; the grape varieties used are Merlot (60%) and Cabernet Sauvignon - complemented by a little Sauvignon and Semillon in the white. The first harvests produced the 2001 vintage.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (guide 2014) 15/20 (review - Hors série Novembre 2014) (Good wine)
About the wine:
This wine, aged exclusively in vats, reveals toasty notes on the nose and palate. It's a concentrated red, marked by a rich body and prominent black fruit notes. Excellent value for money. Drink between 2017 and 2022.
