"Intensely aromatic and expressive on the nose, aromas burst from the glass (blackcurrant and milk chocolate). Juicy on the palate, with real purity. Beautiful texture too, with fine, powdery tannins providing good support and freshness from start to finish. Very elegant, easy to drink yet complex and tasty". Estate rated (2018 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
This brand, which combines the first names of Florence and Denis Dubourdieu, has benefited from the know-how and savoir-faire of the famous Bordeaux oenologist who sadly passed away in 2016. The whites, which express more the astonishing minerality of a limestone terroir than the varietal aromas of local grape varieties, are incomparable. We also produce a small quantity of reds, which are meticulously crafted and now match the perfection of the whites. These are undoubtedly the stars of the appellation! The wines, both red and white (the white being better known because of its anteriority), verge on perfection, whatever the vintage. Great minerality, racy aromas of great purity, volume, elegance, freshness and irresistible balance for the white. The reds, classic and elegant, are up to the challenge.

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
Well-known to wine lovers, this estate is the work of the pope of Bordeaux white wines, oenologist Denis Dubourdieu, who passed away in 2016. For many years, Clos Floridène has been one of the appellation's undisputed leaders. The most astonishing aspect of its production lies in the profound classicism it expresses: far removed from the heavy caricatures of woody, overly exuberant whites often found in ambitious Bordeaux châteaux, Floridène white is a slender, straightforward wine, devoid of artifice, of crystalline purity. The red, an original expression of Cabernet-sauvignon on limestone, possesses the same distinguished elegance. These wines are ideal for cellaring for several years.
Yves Beck
Wine rated (guide 2021) 92/100
About the wine:
Clos Floridène's bouquet reveals itself with subtlety and pertinence. Precision and finesse. On the palate, the wine displays a touch of creaminess and freshness. Full-bodied, with compact, fine-grained tannins and a refreshing structure. A convincing wine and a great success! 2024 - 2037
Jean-Marc Quarin
Rated wine (guide 2022) 91/100
About the wine:
Dark, crimson color, lively and beautiful. Intense, fruity, fresh nose. Delicate on entry, meticulous in the middle and above all very aromatic, with body and meticulous tannicity, the wine stretches out on the finish, long and sappy.
Vert de Vin
Rated (2020 guide) 90-91/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About the wine:
The nose is aromatic and offers fine power. Notes of full-bodied black cherry/blackberry, juicy blackberry/blackberry and, to a lesser extent, crushed redcurrant are combined with hints of spice, cuben pepper and an imperceptible hint of fresh tobacco. Fruity and balanced on the palate, with an acidic structure, harmony, slight freshness, juiciness, good definition, smoothness, fine roundness, fine tension and good structure. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of ripe/ripe wild blackcurrant, small black berries and, to a lesser extent, wild raspberry, combined with fine hints of morello cherry, lily, violet, cardamom, racy minerality and a subtle hint of fresh tobacco. Good length. Well-balanced tannins.
Anthocyanes - Yohan Castaing
Wine rated (2020 guide) 91/100
About the wine:
Beautiful aromatic balance between smoke, black fruit and oak. Full on the palate, with a lovely Cabernet structure and the necessary roundness provided by the Merlot. The tannic charge is palpable, as in 2018, with a little more length and less roundness. Very good ageing potential.

Note and review by M. GILLES D. Published on 14/12/2023
A Bordeaux of great class, richly constituted and enhanced by the special care lavished on it by the very best. The excellent year of 2019 has given the Cru a disconcerting finesse and extra depth, gracing it with crisp flavors of cassis and strawberry garriguette, complemented by a touch of cardamom and an ounce of licorice. This complex ensemble coats the palate with deliciously unctuous tannins and the bold freshness of a singular Cabernet-Sauvignon. Elegant, persistent finish with earthy, empyreumatic notes. A fine Bordeaux at an affordable price that will age well for ten years or so. Full of energy, this juice worked wonders with fillets of venison in Madeira sauce with chanterelle mushrooms. Score = 4.
