Château Respide-Médeville is ownedby an illustrious Sauternes family. René Médeville is credited with having established himself as a great Sauternes craftsman in the Bordeaux region, using the long-lasting ageing techniques for which Château Gilette is renowned today. His son Christian succeeded him in 1959 and further developed the ageing techniques of the famous old vintages with the success we know today. He expanded his estates to include Château Respide-Médeville, and soon established himself not only as an eminent vineyard technician, but also as an aesthete of the singular Sauternes wine.
