"With a blend that includes an unusual 18% Petit Verdot, this wine is dark and firm in color, with strong black fruit flavors. It is rich, intense and full of tannins that indicate great aging potential. This powerful wine is likely to be ready from 2025." About the domain :
Over the last few years, this small, southern Médoc cru has established itself as a safe bet. The wines here have been flawlessly consistent for several vintages now. A particular feature is the strong presence of Petit Verdot, a grape variety that has given rise to an original cuvée. Offering excellent value for money, the wines produced here have a place in any wine-lover's cellar.

About the wine:
A blend of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 20% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Carmenère, aged for around 14 months in oak, including 30% new wood, the 2018 Belle-Vue reveals pretty notes of blackberry, brambleberry and crushed boysenberry, as well as hints of undergrowth, ground clove and menthol. The medium-bodied palate is elegantly stylized and refreshing, delivering tons of crunchy dark fruit and a soft texture, finishing with a mentholated burst. It contains 14% alcohol.

Domaine rated (2023 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
The 2018 is slowly closing, but it's still impressive, with plenty of fullness, a fleshy mouth and a fine grain of tannin. Give it two or three years.

It's hard to miss this paragon of the appellation in a highly concentrated vintage that's already setting new standards. A racy, harmonious profile with a beautiful suavity, between power and finesse, seduction and sobriety. The palate is round, fat and caressing, underpinned by firm but melted and very fruity tannins, with a harmonious woody background and toasty notes that are just right thanks to meticulous ageing. Long, fresh finish with ripe fruit and a hint of vanilla. For lovers of classic Médoc, this is one of the best RQP/Plaisir. Long ageing potential or good drinkability today with pan-seared Landes duck foie gras escalopes, accompanied by caramelized apple slices, for want of fresh figs. Score = 4.1.
