"All lightness!"
"Fresh, fruity bouquet with dark berry aromas followed by mentholated nuances. Greedy, juicy character on the palate. The wine is fruity, balanced and fresh. It's very glou-glou and will bring the vin de midi back into fashion!" (Yves Beck 2021)

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2021) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
The Merlaut family strives to improve the wines from this vast vineyard, which borders on the Saint-Julien crus. Here, the emphasis is not on stunning samples, but on consistency and homogeneity in the quality of the wine delivered. The arrival of a new, talented director has brought greater rigor and precision to the elaboration of a wine that is truly Médoc in character, a little austere and reserved in the primeurs, but gradually letting the cedar and spices speak for themselves. So go for the latest vintages.

Rated wine (guide 2022) 91/100
Area rated Recommended
About the wine:
Fruity nose (blackberry). Light and juicy, perhaps a little bitter on the fruit, but nice strawberries and raspberries. The acidity gives life and fullness, and there's a pleasant note of mint that refreshes the finish. A lighter style.

Domaine noté (guide 2022) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the domain :
Camensac, bought by the Merlaut family in 2005, is now managed by the Chasse-Spleen team, led by Céline Villars-Foubet and Jean-Pierre Foubet. Recent investments have provided the vineyard with a tool equal to the challenge. Over the last few vintages, progress has been substantial, and Camensac is one of the crus that wine-lovers should take a close look at, especially as prices remain very reasonable, which we are delighted about.
