"Another very successful vintage from this estate. The structure of this wine is so fine that you notice the blackberry notes more than the tannins, thanks to this precise acidity like a seam that offers a mouth full of lace." (Wine Enthusiast) An impression of charm and delicacy in a subtle register of ripe fruit, fresh wood and tobacco that will improve with age. An outstanding cuvée in this great 2016 vintage! - Delivery in wooden cases for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding Point Relais delivery method)

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated 17/20 (Reference wine)
Domain rated (2022 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production, a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
Lots of freshness and finesse, almost floral, which is rare in 2016, long, subtle, very Médoc Sud.
About the domain :
Like its neighbors in the Ludon-Macau area, Cantemerle suffered from bad weather in 2017 and 2018, putting a slight halt to its magnificent qualitative progress. All the more reason to have confidence in previous years, showing all the finesse of which this vast 90-hectare terroir is capable. Prices remain affordable and the cru is in good shape for 2019. The arrival of a new director, Laure Canu, marks the start of a new cycle for the estate.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domain rated (guide 2022) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Intense and complex, with notes of red fruit and vanilla, the bouquet is as elegant as the ruby color. Straightforward and supple on the attack, the palate then rises to develop an imposing, fleshy body, underpinned by fine, velvety tannins and skilfully measured oak.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Rated (2018 guide) 89/100 (Very good wine)
Domain rated Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
Purple-purple in color, the 2016 Cantemerle offers notes of soft plums, black cherries and mulberry with a light background of earth and bay leaves. The medium-bodied palate offers just the right amount of fruit and pleasantly velvety tannins to end on a vegetal finish.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (2020 guide) 17/20 + Coup de Cœur (Great wine)
Domaine rated (2022 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
The 2016 tightens up a little. The energy on the palate is there, with substance, persistence and juiciness. Let's give it time to settle in.
About the domain :
Philippe Dambrine has just handed over the reins of this classic Médoc estate to Laure Canu. While Cantemerle has always produced elegant, easily digestible wines, those produced over the last ten years have added extra depth and definition, clearly positioning it as one of the best value for money estates in the Médoc. The work done in the vineyard and the winemaking and blending choices made over the last few years are paying off. We must take advantage of this, especially as the ageing potential is remarkable, as we can often verify.

About the wine:
Another very successful vintage from this estate. The structure of this wine is so fine that the blackberry notes are more noticeable than the tannins, thanks to the precise acidity that makes for a lacy mouthfeel.

For the many vintages already tasted, I have no doubt that this will be a good year that I will share in 2 or 3 years.
