Note : Decanter 4****
A beautifully crafted Haut-Médoc from a terroir of sandy gravel on a clay subsoil. Already very expressive, with lively, intense black fruit aromas and a powerful, opulent palate that's not sluggish, with ripe tannins and a round, silky attack. A complete wine!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (2016 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))

About the domain :

In 1998, Bordeaux wine merchant Patrick Bernard (Millésima) bought this 49-hectare vineyard in the commune of Saint-Sauveur, part of which extends into Pauillac and produces the cuvée fleur-peyrabon.

Domaine noté (guide 2016) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).

About the domain :

Owned by wine merchant Patrick Bernard (Millésima), Peyrabon produces two cuvées. The first, in Haut-Médoc, is easily accessible and can be kept for a long time. The second, Fleur de Peyrabon, comes from well-situated vines in Pauillac (4 ha), but the extraction and ageing sometimes give it a slightly dry character. The wines are well-balanced and offer good value for money.
