Robert Parker
The 2011 La Fleur de Boüard is rich, full-bodied, ripe, and assertive. Grand, mellow, and delicious, it features extra-ripe Merlot harvested late and with low yields. In a relatively short period of time, Hubert de Bouard (owner of Château Angelus) has created a benchmark for the greatness of Lalande de Pomerol. When tasted after 10 to 15 years, the Bouard wines consistently prove their conviction that they are rooted in a great terroir, even if this appellation is humble compared to its close neighbors, Pomerol and Saint-Emilion." Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2014 guide) 17/20 (Reference wine)
Rated estate (2016 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About wine:
Beautiful quality of material, there is a sap that is both ripe and fresh with energetic tannins that should evolve well.
About the estate:
Hubert de Boüard acquired this Lalande de Pomerol property in 1998. It is based on two sectors, one of large gravel and the other of sand and clay. Since the first vintage, these terroirs have produced a wine of great style. Each year, Hubert de Boüard produces a cuvée from the gravelly terroir that he himself describes as an "UFO" (Unidentified Flying Object). The Plus: a very ambitious cuvée aged for 33 months in new barrels.

Rated estate (2016 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
Hubert de Boüard has brought this remarkable estate to the forefront of its appellation, applying the same principles of viticulture and winemaking that have ensured the success of Château Angélus in St Emilion. He produces rich but balanced wines with superb aromatic charm. The latest vintages have gained even more elegance. In great years, a selection of the best grapes can produce the Le Plus de la Fleur de Boüard cuvée, which openly seeks to rival the most prestigious Pomerols. It can achieve this, but sometimes to excess! In 2012, the estate inaugurated a brand-new vat room, designed entirely to work by gravity and equipped with inverted truncated cone vats.
