Notes: Robert Parker 87/100, Citation Guide Hachette
"A pure Merlot wine with a very dark color, an open bouquet and great finesse, denoting good grapes that have been well aged in barrels (twenty months). The palate reveals very ripe fruit. It is very supple, supported by tannins that are already well integrated and completely free of harshness. This 2008 can be served soon with red meats and hard cheeses, or kept for two or three years." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2012)

About wine:
Her family was in the crystal glass business. Catherine Péré-Vergé became interested in the contents of the glasses and settled in Pomerol over twenty years ago, where she now runs three vineyards. In 2000, she looked beyond the Barbanne stream—which marks the boundary of the appellation—and acquired this vineyard in Lalande-de-Pomerol, established, as its name suggests, on gravelly soil. She produces a pure Merlot wine with a very dark color, an open bouquet and great finesse, denoting good grapes that have been well aged in barrels (twenty months). The palate reveals very ripe fruit. It is very supple, supported by tannins that are already mellow and devoid of aggressiveness. This 2008 vintage can be served soon with red meats and hard cheeses, or kept for two or three years.
