Half the vineyard is owned by the Cruse family, the other half by Jacky Lorenzetti, who obviously have great ambitions for it. Surrounded by walls, the fifty-hectare vineyard is situated on a first-class terroir, which explains the wine's remarkable aromatic finesse, and its consistency despite the frequent climatic vagaries of recent vintages. With even more rigorous selection, it could match its prestigious Palmer neighbor, albeit with a different character.

With its medieval château on one side and 17th-century manor house on the other, this cru classé blends styles and eras with real harmony, as seen in the cellar and its hull-shaped frame. In addition to a sumptuous château, Issan boasts one of the few historic vineyards that has not been consolidated, ideally situated on the banks of the Gironde and contained within a magnificent clos. Thanks to the work of Emmanuel Cruse and his team, the wines have gained in thickness, intensity and depth in recent years, while retaining a very silky touch. They are now among the appellation's elite.

A juicy, delicious red with aromas of plum, light pepper, chocolate and hazelnut. Medium-bodied, with a lovely mid-palate and a bright, fruity finish, with just the right amount of tannin to frame the wine nicely. 52% merlot, 46% cabernet sauvignon and 2% petit verdot. Drink now or cellar.

Crisp, fresh, juicy fruit and a touch of mocha make up a fine, delicate, precise nose. The palate is soft and elegant, fleshy and unctuous, velvety before a juicier finish. Between 2024 and 2034

Vert de Vin

About the wine:

(46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 52% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot) The nose is fresh, fruity, elegant and racy. There are notes of crushed wild blackcurrant, raspberry, blackberry and, more lightly, small red berries, combined with hints of racy/magal-like minerality and fine hints of violet, cardamom, graphite, cocoa and toast. Fruity on the palate, with juiciness, acidity, good definition, greediness and acidity. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, fresh/acidulated blackcurrant and, more lightly, pulpy raspberry, combined with hints of cocoa, racy minerality, fine hints of cocoa, toasted almond, a subtle touch of camphor, and an imperceptible hint of eucalyptus (in the background). The tannins are mellow and well-balanced. Good length. Sapidity and fine chewiness on the finish/persistence.

Dark purple color with violet highlights and an almost black core. Fine, fruity nose of blackcurrant, elderberry and raspberry. Well-balanced palate with ripe tannins, medium body and good length.
