"Worthy of a Cru Classé adorned with a collector's label!"

"Graphite and spice, slightly smoky, the nose of Siran 2020 is complex and fresh. The palate is fine and precise, fresh and delicate, for a margaux that's all delicacy, finesse and precision. All the delicacy of Margaux in this magnificent terroir. And what's more, it's elegantly fresh. A stylistic progression for this vintage, which was already a fine benchmark". (Anthocyanes - Yohan Castaing 2021) - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (guide 2021) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

This Margaux cru, situated on the beautiful Labarde gravel, has been run by Édouard Miailhe since 2007. Siran wines are always charming in their youth, and become more complex with age, with notes of old rose and spices giving them finesse and elegance. Siran wines could be described as Margaux classics. Since the 2015 vintage, we've noticed a certain shift in style, which now plays more on the register of extreme power. To be continued.

Wine rated (guide 2023) 93/100

About the wine:

A nose of rich, ripe black fruit, heady and highly aromatic, with notes of blackcurrant, berries and sweet Ribena. Juicy and supple, it's pleasantly lively on the palate, with great acidity and well-presented tannins that are a little chalky and pleasantly bitter. The texture is viscous at first, with lots of acidity and succulence. It seems extremely young and on the razor's edge at the moment, but it's round, forward and full-bodied. It's richer, riper and has a touch of sweet jam, as well as spicy nuances and some terroir influence via a fresh, minty salinity. Extremely likeable, this is a wine to watch. 2026 - 2040

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine rated (guide 2024) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

Domaine noté (guide 2021) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the wine:

With its beautiful depth of color, Siran 2020 opens with engaging, complex aromas of ripe red fruit (raspberry, redcurrant), violets, undergrowth and spices. On the palate, it's straightforward, fresh, refined and elegant, with serious but not harsh tannins and a beautiful, dynamic, fruity finish. A clean, precise Margaux. 2027 - 2033

About the domain :

Formerly owned by Toulouse-Lautrec's great-grandmother, Ch. Siran came into the Miailhe family in 1859. Since 2007, Édouard Miailhe has held the keys to the estate. The vineyard covers 36 ha: 9 ha in Bordeaux Supérieur, 2 ha in Haut-Médoc and 25 ha in Margaux, in the south of the appellation area, on the gravelly plateau of Labarde; a high-quality terroir that would undoubtedly have earned it a place in the famous 1855 classification had the Miailhe family arrived earlier.

Wine rated (guide 2024) 95/100

Domaine rated (guide 2021) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

We tasted the 2020, which lives up to all its promises and is going to establish itself as the best Siran we know. A wine that's very much in place, taut and precise, with great length and breed in the tannins. It can be forgotten in the cellar.

About the domain :

This well-situated Margaux cru deserves a place among the crus classés, especially as it has risen to its highest level under Edouard Miailhe. Its remarkable terroir, located in the most southerly commune of the appellation (Labarde), extends over a superb plateau of siliceous gravel. Tasting the old vintages that the château is fortunate enough to have in its vinothèque reveals the cru's full potential. The last decade has brought it to truly remarkable levels that will age wonderfully.

About the wine:

Barrel sample. All the elements are present in this wine from the southern end of Margaux. This is a very promising estate and the wine combines great tannins with richly defined black fruits. It will age well.
