"Confirms the excellent impression we had during the en primeur tastings. Harmonious nose, offering melted fruit, sweet floral notes and elegant oak, mouth up to scratch, with depth, tasty tannins and great length. Matter, potential, balance, it has it all. Very Medoc. Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated 15.5/20 (Very good wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2021) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the wine:
Confirms the excellent impression we had during the en primeur tastings. Harmonious nose, offering melted fruit, sweet floral notes and elegant oak, mouth up to scratch, with depth, tasty tannins and great length. Matter, potential, balance, it has it all. Very Medoc.
About the domain :
A regular, well-balanced Medoc with excellent value for money, watched over by its discreet winemaker, Jean-Marc Landureau, since 1989. A very Médoc style, with a velvety structure rather than power. The 2016 vintage is one of the estate's best in a long time.

Guide Hachette des vins
Rated wine (2020 guide) Cited (Successful wine)
Domaine rated (guide 202) Awarded wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the wine:
The perfect balance between Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon (45% each) is complemented by a little Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The result is interesting, with a beautiful aromatic expression combining ripe red and black fruit, and a good tannic structure.
About the domain :
Jean Landureau acquired the property in 1934, transforming it into a stud farm. His son Jean-Michel developed vine growing and took his grapes to the cooperative, until the arrival of the third generation and Jean-Marc, who settled here in 1990. After Jean-Marc's death, his daughter Anne took over the running of this estate, which has been converting to biodynamic viticulture since 2018.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Rated (2017 guide) 88-90/100 (Wonderful wine)
Domaine noté Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
Escurac's 2016 has a fresh, playful bouquet with lots of blackberry and raspberry aromas, a sense of minerality that comes through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a slender texture with pulpy blackberry and due empyreumatic notes towards the more Right Bank-style finish. Not bad at all.
James Suckling
Rated wine (2019 guide) 91/100
About the wine:
Aromas of blackberry, licorice and tar follow through to a full body with mellow tannins and a savory finish. A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Takes a year or two to prepare. Drink after 2020.

I loved the 2011 vintage. I was disappointed by this less tasty 2016, perhaps too young (drunk in 2020).
