Château Labadie
Visit Château Labadie is located in the commune of Bégadan, 70 km from Bordeaux. From an estate classified as a Cru Bourgeois in 1932, the Château Labadie acquired by Yves Bibey in 1970, today covers almost 50 hectares. The GFA Bibey, created in 1997 to integrate Jérôme into production, strives to produce an AOC Médoc Cru Bourgeois wine of the highest quality. The passion for wine and the conviviality of this "terroir" family are the main assets of this company.

Winegrowing in Château Labadie follows the rules of "culture raisonnée": phytosanitary treatments are carried out in accordance with viticultural warnings issued by specialized organizations, but also on the basis of experience acquired, which allows us to reduce them with careful consideration. Nature always brings its mysterious touch, and vinification, though traditional, varies according to the vintage. But by installing a temperature control system, you can optimize the benefits of nature.

"A Cru Bourgeois with a great track record!

"The bouquet first reveals its breeding through notes of caramel. These give way to dark berry notes after a little aeration. The wine is elegant, creamy and perfectly balanced thanks to smooth, well-integrated tannins. A full-bodied, fresh and charming wine that deserves a little ageing to develop its full potential". "A multi-medalist nugget!

"The Labadie bouquet is very intense, with floral, fruity and spicy notes. On the palate, the wine is slightly creamy, fruity and well supported by its structure. The tannins are compact, still a little angular, but provide fleshy backbone, complemented by muscular acidity ". (Yves Beck 2020)

"Last bottles of 2015!"

"Tasted at the annual Crus Bourgeois tasting, the 2015 Labadie has an impressive bouquet of blackberry, blueberry and tobacco that develops with aeration. I appreciate the mark of ageing. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine touch of acidity and freshness from start to finish with a subtle marine note on the finish. This is a very fine Médoc, clearly the best since 2010." (Wine Advocate - Neal Martin)

Seen as a diamond by the winemaker, the Petit Verdot grape delivers a grainy, full-bodied mouthfeel that enchants you with its velvety texture. The intense aromas of blueberry and coffee are very powerful, reminding us that a tiny proportion of this grape variety is enough to boost a great wine. Watch your taste buds!

A world-renowned grape variety, Château Labadie's 100% Malbec, far from classic codes, pleasantly surprises us with its aromatic intensity, its frank and authentic profile and its fruity expression. We love the straightforwardness and directness so typical of this grape variety, which makes for great tasting moments. Discover it with friends at a tapas party...

L'Alouette de Labadie is a dry white that owes its atypical character to the high proportion of Sauvignon Gris, a grape variety that has become rare in the Médoc. Its minerality is accompanied by fruity notes of passion fruit and citrus fruit, and its discreet woodiness gives it an explosive edge. Enjoy with seafood gratin, scallops or noble fish in sauce!

"Without rivalling some previous vintages, this 2012 is interesting for its intense bouquet of black fruit, prune, toast and spices, as well as for its round, generous, expressive (ripe fruit) and persistent palate, backed by silky tannins." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2016)

"Château Labadie, a Cru Bourgeois in the Médoc, located in Bégadan, ranks highly in Le Point's tastings. Coup de coeur in 2011, the same vintage with which it won the Coupe des Crus Bourgeois today. A remarkably balanced, fresh wine, a true Medoc at an extremely reasonable price". (Le Point). The Coupe des Crus Bourgeois is organized by the Alliance des Crus Bourgeois in partnership with Le Point magazine. Château Labadie is the winner of the 2014 edition among 183 cuvées. Notes : Robert Parker 89/100, Le Point 16/20, Gold Medal Concours Général Agricole de Paris
"A brilliant Cru Bourgeois, Labadie 2010 is a blend of equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon by owner Jérôme Bibey. A full-bodied, deep, concentrated wine, with lots of blackcurrant as well as notes of blackberry, creosote, garrigue and earth. Dense, muscular and remarkably well-made. Drink over the next decade. Note du Guide Hachette des Vins : 3***(Vin exceptionnel) + Coup de Coeur
"With this 2009, Jérôme Bibey achieves top marks for his wine's perfect blend of power and elegance: a youthful violet color; a bouquet reminiscent of morello cherry, spices and juniper; a palate that's structured, rich, long and beautifully fresh. This bottle is a perfect match for a prime rib of beef on vine shoots, accompanied by a few chanterelles or porcini mushrooms. A great future page in your gourmet memory, to be written preferably between 2016 and 2020". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2013)
