"La Chapelle de Potensac 2007 is a highly seductive Medoc, with an open nose of plums, boxwood, fresh blackcurrants and even a hint of menthol. The structure on the palate is suave, the tannins supple and easy to drink. (Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2012 - Gault & Millau)

Château Potensac
Médoc
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (2021 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
Arguably the most esteemed Cru in the Médoc appellation, Potensac owes its success to the quality of the winemaking teams assembled by the Delon family, owners of the château, who work to the same exacting standards as at Léoville-Las Cases. The vineyard's great age, with some Cabernet plots over 80 years old, does not prevent it from being perfectly productive! The wine possesses classic style to the highest degree, with notes of cedar on the nose and spice in the tannin, and plenty of firmness. It is currently evolving towards more immediate finesse and suppleness. The latest vintages are majestic and classy, and will console those who can no longer afford the most famous crus.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2021) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Situated on one of the highest points in the northern Médoc, this renowned cru, managed by Jean-Hubert Delon (Léoville Las Cases), extends over most of its 84 ha on clay-gravel hilltops with a limestone subsoil and a high proportion of gravel, a terroir similar to that of Saint-Estèphe. Not to be missed.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Domaine rated (guide 2021) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
As bargain hunters know, Château Potensac is the flagship of the Médoc appellation, thanks to the 300,000 bottles produced each year and the consistency of its quality. The younger brother of Léoville Las Cases, it benefits from all the team's know-how and, thanks to the ageing of the vineyard, now produces the best wine in its appellation. Delicious after two or three years in bottle, it is also capable of long ageing. Its style blends generosity and precision, without heaviness or vulgarity.
