Château La Tour de By
Château La Tour de By is a 94-hectare estate in the heart of the Médoc vineyards in the Bordeaux region. Classified as a Médoc Cru Bourgeois since 1932, the average age of the Château La Tour de By vineyard is close to 40 years, planted exclusively with noble grape varieties (65% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 3% Cabernet franc and 2% Petit Verdot). It benefits from a magnificent terroir, the natural cradle of some of the finest Médoc wines, partly composed of Garonne gravel.

Since the 1980s, Château La Tour de By has given priority to ecological methods of disease and pest management, in order to minimize the use of chemical products by playing on the complex interactions between harmful and beneficial organisms. On the vinification side, vatting at Château La Tour de By is long - from 3 to 5 weeks - and the wine is aged in stave oak barrels (30% new) for around 16 months in the perfectly air-conditioned, half-buried ageing cellar.

Château La Tour de By 2009 - Cru Bourgeois Supérieur

Notes : RVF 16,5/20
"Still demonstrating its ageing potential, this cuvée reveals smoky, liquorice touches. On the palate, the texture is soft and suave, with tannin still in the making." (Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2012 - Gault Millau)

"A classic Medoc, well within its style and appellation. Spicy nose. Supple, harmonious, with a fresh, fruity flavor, ripe, fine tannins without violence." (Le Grand Guide des Vins de France 2010 - Bettane & Desseauve)
