Château La Tour de By
Médoc
Expert opinion
Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Estate rated (2012 guide) 4*Stars (Very high quality production)
About the domain :
"Acquired in 1965 by Marc Pagès -who has since passed away, but whose two grandsons are still involved in La Tour de By- the château is magnificently situated on the banks of the Gironde. Now approaching 100 hectares in size, the vineyard includes a beautiful plot near the château, on magnificent Garonne gravel, as well as another in Saint-Christoly, on clay-limestone terroir. Since 2005, La Tour de By has been run by Frédéric Le Clerc, one of Marc Pagès' grandsons.

About the domain :
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Domaine noté (guide 2012) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the domain :
"A good half of the vineyard occupies the most beautiful Gunzian gravel hillside in Begadan, on the banks of the river, on a magnificent site. The microclimate favors Merlot and Cabernet, planted in equal proportions. The château owes much to the dedication of the late Marc Pagès. His heirs are continuing along the same path, going even further in their quest for maturity and precision in vinification. The latest vintages are convincing.
