"With its purple-violets color, the Lynch-Bages 2016 begins with a powerful nose of cassis, chocolate-covered cherries, blackberries and a hint of menthol followed by scents of garrigue, tilled soil and an effluvium of tapenade. Medium-bodied, rich and wonderfully concentrated, the generous fruit is beautifully framed by ripe, fine-grained tannins with a touch of pepper, cinnamon and clove on the finish. Truly, a legendary Lynch-Bages " (Wine Advocate 2018 - Robert Parker) - Delivery in wooden case for all orders of 12 bottles of this wine (excluding Point Relais delivery method).

Château Lynch-Bages
Pauillac
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated (2018 guide) 18/20 (Vin de référence)
Domaine rated (guide 2021) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the wine:
Very dense, with invasive tannin that thickens it a little, but with remarkable reserves for further barrel ageing.
About the domain :
World-famous for its opulence and consistency, this fifth classified growth of Pauillac has belonged to the Cazes family since the 1930s, and has acquired great renown since Jean-Michel Cazes took over its management in 1973. After the successful handover from Jean-Michel to his son Jean-Charles, the cru has maintained its ardor and health in recent vintages, retaining its depth and gaining in tannic precision. The château produces an increasingly stylish dry white Bordeaux, but we're still waiting for a more precise wine for the second selection, echo. A new vat room is under construction, and it promises to be monumental, as we have to hold our own in a highly competitive world!
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2022) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
The name of this cru combines that of the Irish merchants who owned it in the 18th century and that of a hamlet on the southern outskirts of Pauillac. Since the 1930s, its success has been the result of the continuous work of three generations of Cazes: Jean-Charles, André and Jean-Michel. The latter, who has now handed over to his son Jean-Charles, plays an essential role. Its success is linked to the quality of its wines, produced from a vast 100-hectare vineyard, and also to a real development strategy, including a trading business and tourist infrastructures (hotel-restaurant, shops).

Wine rated (2020 guide) 19/20 + Coup de Coeur (Exceptional wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, because of their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning connoisseurs).
About the wine:
We sensed its greatness when we first tasted it, and here is an explosive, racy Lynch-Bages. The fruit is juicy, greedy and sparkling. The finish stretches out on perfectly integrated tannins.
About the domain :
Jean-Charles Cazes is now in charge of this prestigious Pauillac cru. His father, Jean-Michel, an exceptional Medoc personality, tireless ambassador for Bordeaux wines and the architect of this fifth growth's renown, is never far away. The magnificent family estate, excellently situated on the Bages plateau, has produced an impressive series of wines without any weak points since the early 1970s, imposing its rich, seductive and immediately accessible style, while being able to age gracefully. Now boasting a spectacular, brand-new, state-of-the-art winery, the cru is more on track than ever, and its popularity with many wine lovers is only fitting.
James Suckling
Wine rated (2019 guide) 97/100
About the wine:
Very rich and exotic with aromas of blackberry, black tea, graphite and lead pencil. Full-bodied, dense and structured with plenty of ripe tannins and a long, savory finish of currants and forest floor, combined with fresh mushrooms and bark. Needs four to five years to show its true potential. Try it after 2024.
