"Fleur de Pédesclaux 2019, aged in 30% new oak, has increased its share of Cabernet Sauvignon since 2009, when it was purely Merlot (and also in organic conversion since 2013). Aromas of raspberry, blackberry, cedar and light tobacco unfold in the glass. The palate is still quite fleshy and round, and slightly spicy, retaining that hint of Chinese spice towards the tender finish. A fine second wine. (Vinous 2021)

Château Pédesclaux
Pauillac
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
A new, ultra-modern vat room, luxurious and efficient, demonstrates the ambitions of new owner Jacky Lorenzetti. He clearly wants to produce one of the finest wines in his appellation, and has acquired very high-quality terroirs, close to Mouton-Rothschild, which should help him in his ambition. The technically brilliant wines are improving with each new vintage.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2022) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Françoise and Jacky Lorenzetti sold their real estate agency network (Foncia) and bought this château in 2009 from the Jugla family. They undertook major work in the vineyard and cellar (construction of a new winery by Jean-Michel Wilmotte) to restore the reputation of this cru, founded in 1810, whose vineyards now cover some 50 ha following the acquisition of new plots.

Domaine noté (guide 2018) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
Deep garnet-purple in color, Fleur de Pedesclaux 2019 offers expressive notes of baked plums, boysenberries and warm red and black cherries, with hints of bouquet garni, black olives and truffles. Medium-bodied, the palate is bursting with juicy black fruit, framed by ripe, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness. Long, pure finish.

Domaine rated (guide 2022) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
It's undoubtedly one of the most spectacular developments in Bordeaux in recent years. Pédesclaux, acquired by Jacky Lorenzetti in 2009, has undergone a spectacular, state-of-the-art facelift, from vineyard to cellar. Under the leadership of Vincent Bache-Gabrielsen, the wines have progressed steadily, vintage after vintage, little by little. They are now more than worthy of their classification and, above all, have established themselves as remarkable value for money.

Rated wine (guide 2022) 91/100
About the wine:
Sweet and ripe redcurrants and black cherries too. Floral and fragrant. Medium-bodied, with firm, silky tannins and a fresh, lively finish. Second wine of Pédesclaux. 67% merlot, 27% cabernet sauvignon and 6% petit verdot. Drink after 2025.
Vert de Vin
Rated wine (2020 guide) 92/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About the wine:
The nose is elegant and fruity, offering structure and fine power. Notes of blackcurrant, blackberry and, to a lesser extent, strawberry are combined with hints of morello cherry, licorice and very fine hints of timut pepper and gravel. Fruity and balanced on the palate, with a juicy structure, minerality and precision. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy blackberry, fleshy strawberry and, more lightly, cherry, combined with a touch of blackcurrant, violet and a subtle hint of lus, spice and chocolate. The tannins are well-balanced and elegant. A very fine touch of vanilla and an imperceptible hint of coffee on the persistence.
The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve
Rated wine (guide 2022) 90/100
About the wine:
Silky, polished, fresh, fruity with an elegant texture. Red currants already shine pleasantly on the nose and palate. Medium-bodied and fully ready to drink, this is a perfect wine to order in a café or bistro. Drink from 2022 to 2030.

Note and review by M. GILLES D. Published on 11/10/2023
One of Pauillac's best second-wine bargains. The predominant Merlot gives a medium-bodied, appealing, gourmet wine with invigorating freshness and a fleshy, suave, velvety texture of black and red berries alongside notes of spice, chocolate and light tobacco. The tasty, slightly mineral tannic structure lends a certain elegance. Smooth finish, with plenty of spice and a few classic notes of barrel and vanilla that add a touch of soul. For a Pauillac, we'd have hoped for a little more power and depth. Accessible now, and with good ageing potential. After a good hour's decanting, it went remarkably well with shallot-flavored Limousine onglets, accompanied by fried porcini mushrooms in duck fat. Score = 4.1.
