"All the charm of Pomerol!

"Superb olfactory intensity that highlights both the charm of Pomerol and the relevance of the La Pointe team's approach, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Nuances of tea leaves, tobacco and mint, while the fruity side reveals itself through dark berry scents. A lot of finesse, precision and temperament in this wine which is, as director Eric Monneret says, a fine synthesis of 2018 and 2019... The best La Pointe the La Pointe team has produced to date". Rated wine (guide 2021) 93-94/100

Domaine rated (guide 2022) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)

About the domain :

Generali France, owner of the vineyard, can be satisfied with the investments made on the 22 hectares of La Pointe, located on sand and gravel. Always inspired, the property's talented director, Éric Monneret, has succeeded in imposing his wine. He knows perfectly how to manage his technical team, and he listens to the sound advice of consultant Hubert de Boüard. The study of the soils and the implementation of a rigorous parcel management system have enabled the cru to become one of the benchmarks in the sector, gaining in aromatic purity and silkiness over the years.

Wine rated (guide 2023) 94/100

About the wine:

Aromas of blackcurrant, milk chocolate and flowers - a beautiful, lively, forward expression. Elegant and compelling, this wine hits the bull's eye immediately, bold and tangy, with a sharp fruit profile due to high acidity. The tannins are layered, detailed and precise, and feel sculpted. Juicy and lively, it shows great energy and charm, immediately shining in the glass. Generous and almost sweet, it straightens and tightens on the finish, offering a clean, tongue-scratching element of salt, minerality, licorice and oak spice. It's a testament to the talent and hard work achieved at the estate over the past 15 years. 2025 - 2042

Domaine noté (guide 2020) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the domain :

This important cru (23 ha) owes its name to its location on the point formed by the roads to the village and Catusseau, on the outskirts of Libourne. Regular in quality, it was taken over in 2007 by the Générali company. Éric Monneret, a native of the Jura region with a background in Sauternes, runs the estate.

Domaine noté (guide 2022) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).

About the domain :

This long-established cru, located at the entrance to Pomerol, has made great strides since its purchase by the Generali insurance company: the vineyard has been taken in hand, and a new winery built. Under the impetus of its director Éric Monneret, the wine is proving to be truly worthy of interest: it now possesses the aromatic charm, suavity, warmth and persistence that we recognize in its best neighbors, as well as a particular finesse which, even in a hot year, preserves it from any heaviness. A property to follow closely!

About the wine:

This wine is spicy and toasty, with notes of cassis, plum, roasted spices, cedar, violets and grilled herbs. Full-bodied, with sumptuous, velvety tannins and a rich, succulent black fruit character. Firm finish with notes of chocolate and wet stone. Try after 2024.

Rated wine (guide 2022) 95/100

About the wine:

Superb olfactory intensity, highlighting both the charm of Pomerol and the relevance of the La Pointe team's approach, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Nuances of tea leaves, tobacco and mint, while the fruity side reveals itself through dark berry scents. Lots of finesse, precision and temperament in this wine, which is, as director Eric Monneret says, a fine synthesis of 2018 and 2019. The tannins are fine, precise and generous, creating a symbiosis with the acid structure. A kind of concentrated fruit and tension that convinces with its finesse. The finish stands out for its freshness, pep and persistence, but also its "pomerolian" quality! The best La Pointe the La Pointe team has produced to date. 2027-2045

About the wine:

Notes of roses, violets, flowers and spicy kirsch blossom in the perfume. As good as the nose is, the wine is even better on the palate, with its silky, sensual approach. Perfectly ripe plums and cherries offer depth of flavor, opulent textures and richness on the finish, as well as a freshness that holds the attention and makes you want to take another sip. This is the best vintage of La Pointe I've ever tasted. Drink between 2024 and 2050.
