"It's a pleasure to return to this vintage, tasted at least six times since its release. It becomes slender and taut, while retaining a base of fruit, but melted into notes of leather and undergrowth. The tertiary begins its work slowly, polishing the already very fine tannins. A moment of refined pleasure". (Les Meilleurs Vins de France - Gault Millau). A great Pomerol!

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2010 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)
About the wine:
A fat, refined wine with a very racy, deep structure. Confirmation of the vintage's clear progress.

Wine rated (2011 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)

About the domain :
"Situated on two terroirs, one near Clinet on clay gravel and the other on fine gravel in the Grand Moulinet area, Montviel was bought by the Péré-Vergé family in 1985. The latter put the estate back in order with a substantial investment program, including the renovation of the vat room. Over the last ten years, the château's wines have progressed step by step to produce an elegant Pomerol.
