James Suckling
"This privileged terroir unfurls its usual register of power and finesse!
"La Mondotte 2021 has character; it's hardly exorbitant or demonstrative, but finesse is its common thread with, among other things, nuances of peony, raspberry and cocoa bean. The vintage certainly has something to do with it, but so do the choices made in vinification and ageing. Thus, the attack is slender and elegant, while the acid structure takes over, providing freshness and temperament. A tight, but elegant and sapid wine with a salivating, persistent finish. A great success. (Yves Beck 2023) - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

Expert opinion
James Suckling
Rated wine (guide 2022) 95-96/100
About the wine:
A refined, firmly tannic red with notes of violets, tangerine and blue fruit. Medium-bodied, tight and compact on the palate, with everything in place. Elegance and structure.
Terre de Vins
Rated wine (guide 2022) 97-98/100
About the wine:
Fairly unscathed by the vagaries of the vintage, this privileged terroir displays its usual power, but a power sewn with finesse. The chalky tannins are present, the ageing is extremely mellow, and the acidity expresses itself naturally, vertically, on a full-bodied body that is gracefully stretched, in a "soft power" way. A propulsive wine.

Vert de Vin
Rated wine (guide 2022) 96-97/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About the wine:
The nose is fruity, fresh and offers lovely definition, complexity, finesse, racy power (with finesse), lots of harmony and a fine, taut edge. Notes of Morello cherry, fresh red berries and, to a lesser extent, fairly ripe/sparkling blue berries, ripe blackcurrant are combined with fine hints of star anise, sense of place, sweet blond tobacco, a fine touch of vanilla and toasty/fresh oak. The palate is nicely structured, offering freshness, juiciness, fine work on the bitters, as well as a fine stretch, energy, fine purity of fruit, greediness, fullness, suavity and a certain silkiness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of roasted cherry, pulpy/juicy raspberry and, more lightly, tart/crisp red berries, combined with fine hints of violet, blackcurrant, star anise, nutmeg, a discreet hint of serenity, toast and chocolate. Good length.
Tastingbook - Markus Del Monego
Wine rated (guide 2024) 97+/100
About the wine:
Intense purple color with violet highlights and black core. Excellent nose, powerful and elegant, refined toast, subtle oak, supported by rich fruit. Discreet notes of spices and aromatic herbs add complexity. Well-structured on the palate, with excellent tannins, both firm and ripe, and great length. An impressive expression of limestone terroir with minerality, tension and persistence.
Anthocyanes - Yohan Castaing
Rated wine (guide 2022) 95-97/100
About the wine:
Blends not made. Both deep and fruity, the bouquet of La Mondotte 2021 is magnificent, with notes of black fruit, blackcurrant, licorice, graphite and floral on aeration. A chalky palate with straightforwardness, structuring tannins, a lovely acidic structure and an airy, straightforward finish. A fine bottle, where ageing will be decisive in allowing all the telluric power of the soil to express itself.
