"Great wine with character!"

"Subtly fruity, Cap St-George's bouquet also reveals hints of tobacco and pepper. Its terroir gives it a refreshing tension with an incisive, juicy edge. What character! A wine to follow as it evolves. Beautiful tannic structure". (Yves Beck 2021) - Delivery in wooden case for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding Point Relais delivery method).

Expert opinion

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))

About the domain :

From the terrace of Cap Saint Georges, you can overlook the 19 hectares that make up Jean-Philippe Janoueix's estate. The vines run right up to the low stone walls in perfect alignment, underlined by their south-facing aspect. The first vintages from this new estate are full-bodied and spicy.

Domaine rated (guide 2021) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

About the domain :

Son of Jean-François Janoueix, Jean-Philippe Janoueix first settled in Lalande before creating Château La Confession in 2001 in the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, a merger of Châteaux Haut-Pontet (now a second wine) and Barreau. He also produces saint-georges-saint-émilion, pomerol and bordeaux supérieur.

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2020 guide) 92-93/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About the wine:

The nose is fruity, offering racy power, intensity and fine grain. Notes of pulpy/juicy blackcurrant, strawberry and a hint of violet are combined with hints of blueberry, raspberry and lily, as well as zan, sweet blond tobacco and a discreet hint of Szechuan pepper. The palate is fruity and fresh, with a fresh structure, fine texture and roundness. On the palate, notes of juicy blackcurrant, blackberry and, to a lesser extent, blueberry are combined with hints of blueberry, raspberry and Szechuan pepper. Structured, racy tannins.
