"A great wine with character!"

"Subtly fruity, Cap St-George's bouquet also reveals hints of tobacco and pepper. Its terroir gives it a refreshing tension with an incisive and juicy side. What character! A wine to follow as it evolves. Beautiful tannic structure. (Yves Beck 2021) - Delivery in wooden cases for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding Point Relais delivery method).

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Winery rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, consistent with what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

From the terrace at Cap Saint Georges, you can see all 19 hectares of Jean-Philippe Janoueix's property. The vines run right up to the stone walls in perfect alignment, which is emphasized by the south-facing orientation. The first vintages from this new property are full-bodied and spicy.

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

About the estate:

Son of Jean-François Janoueix, Jean-Philippe Janoueix first settled in Lalande before creating Château La Confession in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru in 2001, a combination of Château Haut-Pontet (now a second wine) and Château Barreau. He also produces Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion, Pomerol, and Bordeaux Supérieur.

Wine Green

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2020 guide) 92-93/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About wine:

The nose is fruity and offers a racy power, intensity, and a fine grain. There are notes of pulpy/juicy blackcurrant, strawberry, and a lighter hint of violet, combined with touches of blueberry, raspberry, lily, and hints of zan, sweet blond tobacco, and a subtle hint of Sichuan pepper. The palate is fruity and fresh, with a fresh structure, fine texture and roundness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy blackcurrant, blackberry and, more subtly, blueberry, combined with hints of blueberry, raspberry and Sichuan pepper. The tannins are structured and racy.
