"An excellent wine, the Gloria 2011 continues the success of this well-known estate. Delicious red and black fruits, spice box, with a silky texture, in a medium-bodied style, it is undeniably a sure bet of the vintage. Its round tannins, fruitiness and character will allow it to be enjoyed over the next 7-8 years." Château Gloria

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2013 guide) 15/20 (Very good wine)
Domaine rated (2021 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
Well-cleared fruit, rather comfortable texture, wine of character, harmonious, supple enough for pleasant drinking within 5 to 6 years.
About the domain :
Superbly situated in the commune of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle and surrounded by noble peers, Château Gloria today belongs to Jean-Louis Triaud and his wife, the daughter of Henri Martin, its "creator" (as does Château Saint-Pierre). This property has now fully recovered its qualities. The wines of Gloria have pure fruit and a supple structure, with great finesse of tannin. They are great classics of the appellation.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (2015 guide) 2**Stars (Outstanding wine)
Domaine noté (guide 2021) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the wine:
A fine wine for laying down, in keeping with the spirit of the appellation, this Saint-Julien reveals a harmonious, fresh, fruity bouquet, supported by discreetly spicy oak. Supple and alert on the attack, the palate is ample, fat, powerful without being harsh, supported by smooth tannins and well-integrated oak. A perfectly balanced ensemble, built for ageing.
About the domain :
This cru, which today covers 50 ha, was created ex nihilo from 1942 onwards by one of the vineyard's great figures, Henri Martin, who for years bought up parcels from grands crus classés in the center of Beychevelle, as well as to the west and north of the appellation. His daughter Françoise and her husband Jean-Louis Triaud, who ran Gloria and all of Domaines Martin, handed over the reins of their properties to their son Jean in 2016.

Rated (2016 guide) 15.5/20 (Good wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2021) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
The 2011, with its smooth tannins, opens up well today.
About the domain :
Built up patiently, parcel by parcel, in the second half of the 20th century by Henri Martin, Gloria is one of the Médoc's strongest non-classified growth brands. This reputation is far from usurped, as the latest vintages testify. Always very full-bodied, colorful and concentrated, this cru has hardly been faulted in the last decade. It's aging harmoniously, but even the hardiest connoisseurs will enjoy drinking it from five years of age.

About the wine:
This is an open, juicy wine, with charming fruit structured by firm but controlled tannins. There's a sensation of lightness in this wine, with aromas of fresh blackcurrant.
