La Chapelle House
Delphine and Grégory Viennois, two Burgundians by birth, are returning to their roots with the creation of their negoce. The Chapel House. These two wine enthusiasts embarked on their adventure with their very 1st vintage in 2014. Delphine, from a winemaking family, has always been associated with the great Burgundy houses. As for Grégory, an oenologist, he trained with great Burgundy names such as domaine J. Prieur, de l'Arlot, Smtih-Haut Lafitte, M. Chapoutier, Ferraton Père & Fils and Stéphane Derenoncourt. Now back in Burgundy, at the head of his own structure, he is also technical director at Domaine Laroche in Chablis and consultant at Quinta Do Monte d'Oiro in Portugal.

Established in the Irancy appellation, Maison de La Chapelle produces parcel-based cuvées to highlight Burgundy's distinctive "climat". The young structure produces only red wines, with the pinot noir grape variety, respecting Burgundian know-how and tradition. A promising company that has already established the credentials of this still little-known but up-and-coming appellation among Burgundy wines.

"Aromas of cherries, sweet berries, smoke, spices and petals herald the 2019 Irancy, a medium-bodied, lively and succulent wine that has been aged 100% in barrel. This is a very well-made wine ". (Wine Advocate 2021). The 2019 Irancy from this promising Maison presents a beautiful, expressive nose of stone fruit, with energetic juice. A fine finesse is revealed on the palate, with tannins that are still tight.

"A festive and generous Aligoté".

"From two parcels in Chitry that are vinified in vats, the Bourgogne Aligoté 2020 bursts with aromas of crisp orchard fruit, honeysuckle and fresh bread. Medium- to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, it is textured yet chiseled, concluding with a chalky touch. A real success story. " (Wine Advocate 2021).

Les Bâtardes 2019 continues to seduce us with its finesse and authenticity. Black fruit is present on both the nose and palate, accompanied by spicy notes. Ample, structured and with delicate tannins, the palate is all elegance and harmony. Still in its youth, you'll enjoy it to the full in a few months' time.
