Domain Cordier Père et Fils
Domain Cordier is a family estate in Burgundy, in the village of Fuissé, in the heart of the finest terroirs of the Mâconnais. The estate is run by Christophe Cordier, a passionate winegrower who loves to enhance terroirs and reveal their potential. The estate produces great white wines from the Chardonnay grape variety, often compared to the finest Grands Crus.

Like all great Maisons, Domain Cordier devotes the utmost attention and expertise to the production of its wines. Pruning, in a very personal style, green harvesting practices (thinning then disbudding), the choice of compost rather than fertilizers, manual harvesting, plot by plot, illustrate the high standards practiced on the estate. In the same way, the exclusive use of original lees and indigenous yeasts in the vinification process demonstrate Christophe Cordier's determination to preserve the substance and identity of his wines. Precision work adapted to each plot, each grape, each wine

Domain Cordier works on a hundred or so parcels of land, scattered across the hillsides of the Mâconnais region. A mosaic of vineyards, a mosaic of terroirs, a real treasure trove for Christophe Cordier, who takes pleasure in working this diversity. The young farmer enjoys working with different soils (primary, secondary and tertiary), on small plots of land. As if each plot were a challenge. "A logistical challenge", he admits, but a genuine strategic choice for Domain , who aspires to create the finest crus in the Mâconnais region. A mosaic of 100 parcels spread over 7 communes: Fuissé, Charnay-les-Mâcon, Loché, Leynes, Chasselas, Vergisson and Davayé.

In 2003,Christophe Cordier set up a small "haute couture" wine merchant business, selling top-quality white wines from Burgundy and Beaujolais. Christophe Cordier selects the best terroirs to offer his customers the diversity and richness of Burgundy and Beaujolais vineyards. The wines produced (Saint-Véran, Pouilly-Fuissé, Viré-Clessé...) are vinified and aged under Christophe Cordier 's aegis at the Domain Cordier cellar exclusively with natural yeasts maturing in barrel on total lees. The work of a passionate winemaker.

Domaine Cordier - Beaujolais-Villages Les Grandes Plantes 2012

2*Coup de Coeur Hachette

Note : Guide Hachette 2**(Remarkable wine) + Coup de Coeur
"Christophe Cordier is just as talented when it comes to Gamay, as witnessed by this 2012, which delighted the grand jury with its intense, brilliant garnet-red color. The nose releases powerful notes of blackcurrant and spices. Round and ample on the palate, with aromas of black fruit and vanilla. Harmonious and highly concentrated, this Beaujolais-Villages can be laid down for several years, and would be wonderful with roast chicken". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2014)
